Deposition
Deposition is the process in which sediment is laid down in new locations. All deposition does is it carries the sediment away from the place it was weathered and eroded. The sediment can be carried away by a stream or river, and of course, rain. One type of deposition is stream deposition. It mostly happens after a lot of rain or a flood because lots of water carry away the sediment and solution.
